Hello! My name is Rachel, and I am a British writer, editor, translator and local producer based in Munich, Germany.
CULTURE
I moved to Munich over a decade ago and started out as a culture writer, contributing to the likes of Telekom’s music magazine Electronic Beats, contemporary fashion platform Not Just A Label, The Huffington Post, and Berlin indie mag Kaltblut.
TRAVEL
In 2017, I co-authored the MONOCLE travel guide to Munich, printed by Gestalten, and was one of ten authors to include an essay in the guidebook, and I also contributed to the architecture, design, and art chapters. I’ve worked as an editor and travel writer for Singapore Airlines’ inflight magazine SilverKris, luxury hotel chain Mandarin Oriental, travel website Culture Trip, and helped update the DK Eyewitness Guide to Germany, out in 2023.
CONTENT
I spent a decade working as an editor and writer in two international communications agencies, and am about to start working at ZEIT Verlag.
I also write about technology, mobility, the environment, and sustainability, and work as a local producer and interpreter too. Freelance clients include WhereIsMyTransport and Laudea Research GmbH. I regularly work for the BBC as a local producer, contributing to BBC World Service reports.
